Driller expands GT capability with U.S. acquisition

In Canada, Major Drilling Group International Inc. has purchased North Star Drilling LLC through its wholly owned subsidiary, Major Drilling Environmental LLC. The $ 3 million purchase price for the Little Falls, Minnesota company includes drilling equipment, contracts and employees. North Star Drilling provides contract drilling services to the fresh water and geothermal markets in some mid-western states in the U.S. Major Drilling President and CEO Francis McGuire said, “when we expanded into environmental drilling earlier this year with the purchase of SMD, it was our stated intention to build that business. The North Star acquisition is part of that ongoing process.
