A new photo website features the power of the dynamic earth

Well a stretch to call this research but a new website, Volcano Picture of the Day, was launched recently. The site is dedicated to “capturing the power and beauty of volcanoes and geothermal areas,” and it features a wide array of recent volcanic eruptions. Check it out at http://www.vpow.org/. The site is maintained by a small, dedicated community of volcano photographers. Just as amateur astronomers contribute to research in astronomy through observation, perhaps the same can built for volcano and geothermal studies, starting with this site.
