Temperature on target at Paralana EGS project
In Australia, Petratherm Ltd managing director Terry Kallis reported that temperature measurements “have taken significant risk out of the company’s flagship” Paralana 2 EGS project. Measurements extrapolated for 13,000 ft were 190 C and the minimum temperature the company had targeted for the economic development of the resource is 170 C. A continuous logging tool reported temperatures to be 173 C at 12,000 ft, and a separate maximum temperature logging tool measured 176 C. Based on this data, the extrapolated Paralana 2 bottom hole temperature is believed to be between 185°C and 191°C at 13,000 ft. Petratherm will now move on to reservoir creation through fracturing before drilling a second producer well and circulating water for “proof of concept”.
