UK Environment Agency wants more ground source incentives

In England, the Environment Agency is calling on the Government to offer more financial incentives to home owners and businesses to install ground source heating and cooling through the forthcoming Renewable Heat Incentive. A new report from the Agency suggests that more than one million systems could be installed in the UK in the next decade and predicted that, with the right financial support, the systems could provide nearly one-third of the country’s renewable heat by 2020. Patrick Sherriff, sales and marketing director of Geothermal International, the UK’s leading designer and installer of the systems, said: “The figure of one million systems being installed by 2020 is far from pie in the sky – GSHP systems are truly a heating and cooling solution for the 21st century.”
