Two new geothermal projects proposed near Fallon, NV

In Nevada, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management will conduct an environmental review of and produce a formal environmental impact statement for proposals to build at least two new geothermal plants in Churchill County. The proposals for the Salt Wells Energy projects come from NV Energy, Oromat Technologies and the Vulcan Power Co. In total, the separate projects could eventually result in seven 30 to 60 MW plants.
