Schwarzenegger will veto bill, but support renewable energy through exec order
In California, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger intends to veto legislation that would give the state the most ambitious renewable energy standards in the country. A spokesman said that instead, the Governor will sign an executive order mandating a similar change while leaving out elements he objects to. The measures approved by the Legislature Friday night would have required California to get a third of its energy from renewable sources, including geothermal, by 2020.
